Mission Trip Deposits Past Due

Mission trip deposits were due last Sunday, February 20. If you are planning on going on the mission trip, you need to either pay your deposit ASAP or make other arrangements with me. As of right now, no one has made any alternative arrangements.

To make a deposit this Sunday, place a check (or cash inside an envelope with your name on it) in my secure white mailbox down by where my old office was. I will be out of town Sunday. I will check the box Tuesday when I get back in town.

Vehicles need to be rented, adult leaders need to be recruited, travel plans need to be made, and other details ironed out (and they will be–very soon). All of this is in flux depending on how many students are going on the trip. If you wait too long, there might not be space left for you. Get your deposit in as soon as possible.

Weekly Update – This weekend

• Not a whole lot going on this weekend. Matt is out of town. For Sunday school, all youth should go to the VBS Vision Raising. Many of our youth have been to Okoboji for family camp and all of our youth have helped lead VBS. Your input will be very valuable to crafting this year’s VBS.

  • 5:30-6:30 PM—Maundy Thursday Prep
  • 5:45—Pizza Dinner ($3 per person)

  • 7:00—Ash Wednesday Worship
  • No other activities
• Wednesday, March 16—Lenten Dinner Preparation. Youth will prepare the Lenten dinner for this evening. Youth can begin arriving at 4:00 PM to begin preparation. Worship begins at 7:00 PM. No other youth activities this week.
• Sunday, March 20, 6-8 PM—Inner Mission at the Pender’s house.
• Beginning March 23—Wednesdays during Lent:
  • 5:30 PM—Maundy Thursday Prep
  • 6:00 PM—Dinner
  • 6:00-6:55 PM—Confirmation
  • 6:15 PM—Chimes Choir
  • 7:00 PM—Worship Service
• Sunday, March 27, 6:30-8 PM—Soul Emergence. A unique worship experience that gives your soul space to connect with God. Held at the church.

This Weekend:

• TONIGHT Friday, February 18, 7-10 PM—Youth Night Out: Bowling. We will go bowling at AMF Desoto Lanes. Meet at the church at 7:00 PM and we will be back by 10:00 PM. We’ll bowl from about 7:30-9:30. Bring $15 to cover bowling costs, more if you will want to buy food & drinks.
• Sunday, February 20 – $50 Mission Trip Deposits Due! If getting me the deposit by Sunday is an issue, email me to arrange for something else. $50 will guarantee your spot on this year’s trip. For more, go to hopeyouthministry.com/missiontrip.
