Hope Youth Ministry

This week is the last regular Wednesday evening for this school year. This will be the final meeting for Confirmation until the fall.

The high school is going to meet at Sam’s Pizza in Cedar Hill this week at 6:00PM for our final meeting of the school year.

There will be things going on during the summer. I’ll send out emails to keep everyone up-to-date.

This morning the weather forecast makes it look like it will be a great weekend. The rain should be over by the time we arrive. Make sure to pack a sweatshirt or jacket for the mornings and evenings, as it will be chilly! I’ll see those who are coming at 6:00PM at the church tonight. We’ll eat dinner when we arrive at Sky Ranch.

Sky Ranch is this weekend! If you have forms and payment ready to bring on Wednesday, go ahead and bring it. Or, you can bring it when you come on Friday. Everything you need for the trip is at hopeyouthministry.com/skyranch.

Due to an unexpected donation, we are dropping the price for Sky Ranch to only $49, which is a killer deal. If you have ever wanted to bring a friend to Sky Ranch, this is the weekend to do it. As always, if money is an issue, scholarships are available for those who cannot afford to pay.

Please email me or text me no later than this Sunday, April 15 if you are coming to Sky Ranch (and the names of any friends you are bringing). I need to turn in our head count on Monday morning. I will be out of town this weekend for a wedding.

I’m out of town this weekend, so we’ll take the week off from Sunday school on Sunday, April 15.

Sky Ranch is still on for next week, April 20-22, for everyone in junior high and high school. I know this is a bad weekend for some people, but all the other weekends have been sold out, so we couldn’t move it. I’ll send out more details soon. Cost will be $99 per person.

Let me know if you can’t come at all, if you could come for just Saturday & Sunday, late Friday, etc.

This Wednesday the youth will begin setting up for Maundy Thursday after the Wednesday worship service concludes at 7:45PM. We will clear out the chairs and lay out the labyrinth. We will not be doing anything else this Wednesday, so if you need to get homework done, do it early. And if you can get here by 7:45 PM we could use your help. The more people we have the quicker it will go. It shouldn’t take more than an hour.

On Thursday those who are able to help (you don’t need to know anything special to help… just show up) need to get to church as early as possible. Please let me know what time you can be here. We will also need help tearing the sanctuary down after the evening is over at 8:00 PM. Again, if you can only be here later to help us clean up, we could use the help.

We have Inner Mission this Sunday, March 25 at 6-8PM at the Pender’s house.

As usual, Sunday school is Sunday morning at 9 AM.

Just a reminder that the youth are cooking dinner tomorrow night. If you can, get there at around 4:30PM. Otherwise, get there as early as you can. We will need to clean up afterwards as well.

Confirmation will meet as scheduled at 6:00 PM.

I hope everyone is having a great spring break. Speaking of spring break, we won’t be having Confirmation this week due to spring break. The high school will still meet if you are in town.

Also, the youth are not cooking dinner this week.

Lenten worship begins Wednesday at 7:00 PM.

Just a reminder that everything will start at normal time tonight, but instead of pizza we will have a homemade meal and we will be done at about 6:55 PM to allow people to attend the Lenten worship service at 7:00 PM.

During the worship service we will be watching portions of a video that I expect will be well received by adults and youth alike. I hope you will plan on being a part of our worship services during this Lenten season.
